FAQ

How do I order a print?
If you have a PayPal account, and you require delivery to a UK address, then ordering a print on-line is a simple process:
  1. If an image is available to buy as a print, there will be an "Add to cart" link below it. Clicking on that will take you to a page where you can select quantities and (predefined) sizes.
  2. If you want to buy (for example), 4 prints of an image at A3 size, enter "4" in the A3 box and click the appropriate "Add to cart" button. This adds the item to your shopping cart, but don't worry - you have not made a commitment to buy
  3. If there's anything in your shopping cart, it will appear at the top of the page.
  4. When you are ready to buy, click on the "Shopping cart - View & Checkout" link. This will take you to a page where you can review and alter your order before actually making a purchase.
If you'd rather pay by cheque or bank transfer, or need your order shipped to a non-UK address, please contact me directly to arrange this.

What do I get when I order a print?
All prints are made from original photos on archival quality 320gsm Bartya paper using Giclée printing techniques and archival inks. Wilhelm Research rates the paper/ink combination I use as having a lifetime of 71 years if framed behind normal glass (no - I don't know how they know this). If you stick the pictures in an album, they'll apparently last >200 years(!).

The source photographs are hand processed RAW images which are much higher resolution than the preview images seen on the site. I have to shrink them for on-line viewing, which reduces their detail. The prints are made from the original captures.

All prints have a white border which makes it easier to mount them in a frame.

The prints are not watermarked in anyway.

What are your delivery times?
Prints will usually be posted within two weeks of payment clearing, but it can take longer. I'll contact you if it's going to take more than two weeks.

Do you do framing as well?
I don't currently offer the prints framed, mainly due to cost. I can't get the framing done any cheaper than you can, and the cost of posting a print increases rapidly when I wrap it in wood and glass. Besides, I have no idea what style of frame would look good on your wall.

How do I return a print?
If for some reason you decide you don't want a print you've ordered, just return it for a full refund. The following terms and conditions apply:
  1. Contact me within 7 days of receiving the print to receive return instructions
  2. Return the print to me within a further 14 days, undamaged and packaged to the standard originally used
  3. The refund will cover the price paid plus all pre-agreed postage costs
