Suilven

Located in Sutherland, in the north west highlands of Scotland, Suilven is a stunning mountain. Although relatively small - at 731m it fails to reach Corbett status never mind Munro status - it completely dominates the landscape, dwarfing its larger neighbours (Conival and Ben More Assynt). It's wonderfully photogenic from all angles, which means I just can't help taking one more shot every time I visit the area. You'll see what I mean if you ever visit my Flickr photostream, which risks becoming a bit top-heavy with Suilven shots.
This particular shot was taken at sunrise on a bitterly cold, but clear, December day. I have extremely fond memories of sitting on the frosted hillside, waiting in anticipation for the sun to make an appearance.
