Elafonisi Lagoon
Elafonisi Island is separated from the Crete mainland by a beautiful lagoon that's somewhere between ankle and knee deep. It's a stunning location that becomes quite busy during the day, but it empties surprisingly quickly once the sun sets.
Having the place to ourselves for such a lovely light show was truly magical, and a nice way to round off a day of stressful sunbathing and paddling in the sea.
